How do you adapt your fashion when working across so many fields including presenting, DJing, radio hosting, writing and being the face behind the blog ‘A Fox That Meows’?
What I wear really depends on what I am doing. Because of the many facets of my career, I change up my look quite a lot. It's like having multiple style personalities, which is really fun. My Djing style is really chilled, young, fun and comfortable. I need to be able to jump around, dance and be free. I DJ with my best friend Demi in our duo Dem Foxes, so we match our looks a lot, embracing the whole sister act thing. Dem Foxes standard uniform for a gig usually consists of boots, cons or vans, statement t-shirts and shorts. When I am presenting or doing red carpet reports I get my glam on and really embrace fun pops of colour and prints. Presenting and events give me a chance to really have fun with fashion, i'm very lucky to have access to some amazing designers that dress me, so there's lots of experimenting. My blog style on A fox That Meows is really a collection of everything from day to day wear, Dem Foxes outfits, editorial style shoots, swimwear, event looks, it's never the same and always new and exciting.
What’s your go to piece this season?
I am loving overalls, but then I always have, always will. This season I am seeing lot more variety with prints and mixing fabrications, which is super cool. I am obsessed with the new One teaspoon overalls I scored from BB. I love the baby blue wash denim with leather detailed straps. No doubt I am going to wear them to absolute death ;)
What are your favourite fashion items that you can’t live without?
Leather shorts, they go with everything. Also Gypsy inspired headpieces, they instantly make anyone look like a goddess and a LBD, they always save the day.
Who is your style icon?
I have so many style Icons due to a very varied sense of style. I take inspiration from different people depending on the job/occasion. Our Dem Foxes style inspiration is often inspired by the likes of Rhianna, Maffashion, the blog 'They all hate us' and Cara Delevigne. For everyday inspiration I turn to Alexander Chung, Candice Swanepoel & Jessica Hart. Events/presenting inspiration would have to be Louise Roe, Nicole Richie and Miranda Kerr.
What are your goals for 2014?
WORLD DOMINATION. Haha I think big when it comes to goals, but in short 2014 is going to be a massive year. I am planning to skip Australian Winter and take my blogging adventures overseas and we have big plans for our DJ duo Dem Foxes as well…I guess you will have to follow A Fox That Meows and my instagram @rochelle_fox and @demfoxes to keep in the loop ;)
